Personal life

Carlos, his father, taught him the game at the age of five. Catalina is also a tennis player who competes mainly in ITF tournaments. He's planning to marry Stephanie Demner, the model and entrepreneur.

Pella, a junior, set a 19–5 record in singles and ranked as high as No. 1. In 2008, the combined world rankings placed 42nd at 42nd place. In 2008, he qualified for the French Open boys' singles, defeating Jerzy Janowicz and reaching the semifinals.

Pella debuted Futures tournaments in 2005, winning his first match at Peru F3 in July 2008 without dropping a single single set. He gained six more Futures titles in the ensuing years, all of which were on clay. In November 2011, he defeated Matteo Viola in straight sets in his first Challenger final.
