Following a new government order to prohibit athletes from participating in any sport, Czech police have barred Russian or Belarus from participating in any event

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 29, 2023
According to the organisers, Czech police barred a Russian tennis player from entering the country ahead of the WTA Prague Open tournament, a new government resolution banning athletes from Russia or Belarus caused the tournament to be postponed, causing the event to exclude other participants. The Prague Open begins on Monday and was predicted that a handful of Russian and Belarusian players, including Evgeniya Rodina of Russia and Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus, would compete as neutrals without having any national flag or symbol. However, the government passed a bill limiting athletes from Russia and Belarus from participating in sporting activities on Czech territories at the end of June, encouraging police to withdraw visas to those nationals.
