Grigor Vachkov Life

Since playing Mitko the Bomb in the TV series At Any Kilometer (1969–71), Vachkov gained a lot of attention. Despite his death in 1980, he remains one of Bulgaria's best actors in that period. Vachkov, Torrid Noon (1968), The Tied Up Balloon (1967), The Kindest Person I Know (1973), 1st. Acting by Eduard Zahariev (1980), The Last Summer (1974) and especially his role as Banko in Manly Times (1977). Vachkov is also known for his numerous appearances on the stage of Sofia's Satirical Theatre.

Biography and career

Grigor Vachkov Grigorov was born in 1932 in the village of Tranchovitsa, Bulgaria's Levski Municipality. He graduated from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in 1955. Following Vachkov's graduation, he was employed in the Vratsa Theatre for two years. In 1957, he joined the troupe of the newly founded Satirical Theatre "Aleko Konstantinov" in Sofia. In 1960, he made his first appearance in films. Every Kilometer (1969–71), in which he plays Mitko the Bomb, earned him a lot of attention. Vachkov appeared in films including The Last Summer (1974) and Manly Times (1977), which gained international recognition. Mera spoked Mera in his last film. He died at the start of the film, and the script had to be changed in order to finish the movie.

He is the father of actress Martina Vachachkova and a good friend of writer Yordan Radichkov.
