Personal life

Doré's relationship with photographer Scott Schuman started in 2008 and became a marriage partner for jazz musician Chris Norton. They separated in 2018.

In 2020, she moved to Wellington, New Zealand, and founded L'Ile, a subscription-based newsletter and online community.

Career

Before starting her blog in 2006, she worked as a freelance illustrator in France. Louis Vuitton, Dior, Kate Spade, and Gap also had her original illustrations on sale. Doré began incorporating writing into her posts less than a year ago when she first started her blog.

Doré's blog in 2007 started to feature photos of people around Paris, a style now known as "streetstyle." She has worked with Chloé, Chopard, David Yurman, Tiffany & Co., and J. & Co. since this time. Crew on photo shoots. She was dubbed the "guard of all style" in a New York Times column.

Doré began making video content for her blog in 2009. She was working on video content with major brands like Dior, Chopard, Tiffany & Co., Petit Bateau, J., within a few months. Max Mara and Kering, crew, and Chris Coney, had created "Pardon My French" on YouTube in 2012. Stella McCartney, Jenna Lyons, Dries van Noten, and Anna Dello Russo's previous "Pardon My French" episodes have all focused on Fashion Week and interviews with Stella McCartney, Jenna Lyons, Dries van Noten, and Anna Dello Russo. The Council of Fashion Designers of America Media Award was given to Doré and his then-boyfriend Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist in 2012.

Spiegel & Grau published Garance's first book Love Style Life in October 2015. The book, which was marketed as a visual memoir, mixed personal accounts about topics ranging from style to romance with original photographs and illustrations.

Doré's work has appeared in Harper's Bazaar, GQ, Vogue, Self Service, and French Elle (magazine). T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Vogue, British Vogue, The Guardian, and Elle (magazine) published her article as a photographer, illustrator, and author.

Doré resigned from fashion in 2015, but Atelier Doré, a lifestyle blog, continues to be the focus of her blog.
