Madison Square Garden is restored to its glory days by Knicks and Rangers

It's called The World's Most Popular Arena, but Madison Square Garden has been more renowned than ever in the 21st century, a place where celebrity athletes routinely fail to impress, and teaching careers go to die. The Manhattan arena's tenants haven't even sniffed a title this millennium, despite the New York Rangers' Stanley Cup Finals loss in 2014. Although New York has had some success on the track, the hardwood has been much crueler, as the Knicks have won only three playoff series since being in the NBA Finals in 1999. But now, with the support of some new blood, the Knicks and Rangers are giving irritated fans a reason to be excited about visiting Madison Square Garden for the first time in years.

And though Joel Embiid recently became an American citizen, France still needs him to play for them

Joel Embiid, the Philadelphia 76ers' center, has never played for a national team in his career. Embiid was born in Cameroon and became an American citizen just recently after playing stateside since he was 16 years old. With the Paris Olympics coming up in two years, the host country wants to make a splash and nab as many gold medals as they can. Evan Fournier of the New York Knicks, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot of the Atlanta Hawks, Theo Maledon of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves are all among France's national team members. Frank Ntilikina and Nicolas Batum have been deployed before. Victor Wembanyama, the upcoming NBA draft pick, will likely be available by the time the games roll around.
