Felix Mallard Career

Career

Mallard made his acting debut in 2014 at the age of 15, taking over Ben Kirk's role in the Australian television soap opera Neighbours for a three-week, six episode stint. He got an audition by his modelling agent, which he unexpectedly won. He had never considered acting before, but this made him realize that this was going to be what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He returned the following year for a second 4-month guest stint while still attending college. Mallard decided to pursue acting full time, and he rejoined Neighbours as a permanent cast member in 2016. Mallard's obsession with music was incorporated into his persona, and he performed classical music on the program. He appeared in Xanthe Ben, a 20-episode online spin-off, as well as the webisode series Summer Stories, which both premiered during the 2016 Christmas season. Mallard shot his final scenes for Neighbours in late 2017. Ben's last storyline saw him relocate to Oakey, Queensland, his late father's home town. On April 10, 2018, his last episode aired. He made two comeback appearances by video link, on December 31, 2018 and January 2019. In addition, he appeared in the "Without You" music video of Melbourne band Maefire in 2016.

Mallard appeared in Travis Burns' short film Money Is Just a Barbell, which he also produced and performed the music after his departure from Neighbours. He joined the United States at the start of 2018 and quickly became co-star Cooper James in the CBS comedy series Happy Together, alongside Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West. The film Happiness is loosely based on Harry Styles' experiences, who left England with television producer Ben Winston and his family to escape the spotlight when the pop band One Direction burst in fame. Mallard, who was on the television show's producer Winston, received phone calls from Harry Styles and James Corden, who persuaded him to accept the role. Mallard had initially auditioned with an American accent, but he was eventually asked to change to his native Australian accent. The show debuted on October 1, 2018, but CBS decided on November 28, 2018, despite poor ratings, that it would not be able to order additional episodes of the series beyond the initial order of thirteen. On May 10, 2019, CBS cancelled the program.

Mallard continued to play Lucas Caravaggio in Netflix's Locke & Key: a 17-year-old friend of Rendell Locke who died 25 years ago after being captured by a demon. In the first half of this year, filming took place. It was first introduced on February 7, 2020. He appeared in All the Bright Places, a romantic drama film that premiered in October 2018 and was then released by Netflix in February 2020. The film is a recreation of Jennifer Niven's 2015 young adult book of the same name.

Mallard played a regular role in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist's second season as Zoey's neighbor – an Australian singer who recently completed college and has returned from backpacking in Thailand. The job required performing a variety of songs as well as dancing.

In the Netflix dramedy Benny & Georgia, Mallard plays series regular Marcus, an edgy 15-year old. Mallard's character's father is deaf, and he was required to learn American Sign Language for the role. During the second half of this year, filming took place in Toronto, and the series was announced on February 24 in 2021. After season one was watched by 52 million viewers in 28 days, Ginny & Georgia was renewed for a second season, making it Netflix's tenth most watched series. In mid-late 2022, it is projected to air. Since its debut on Instagram, Mallard's following soared from 90,000 to over three million.

Locke & Key's second season began in 2021, with him appearing in the final episode.

"Ginny & Georgia" Fun Fact: Joe and Padma Are Siblings in Real Life

www.popsugar.co.uk, January 16, 2023
Within the "Ginny & Georgia" cast, there's a sibling pair. The actors who play Joe and Padma, Raymond and Rebecca Ablack, respectively, are brother and sister in real life, as many viewers of the Netflix series have discovered. In the first season, their characters only appear in one scene, but when Padma joins Ginny (Antonia Gentry) as an employee at Joe's Blue Farm Café in season two, their similarity becomes more evident by the day. In the show's new iteration, viewers learn more about Joe and Padma as their characters develop. Joe forms a friendship-turned-romantic-fling with Cynthia (Sabrina Grdevich), who often visits Blue Farm to sip wine and forget thoughts of her sick husband. Despite the brief hookup, Joe's soft spot for Georgia (Brianne Howey) remains unchanged, and it appears that the feeling was mutual at one point when he confronts her about their past and present relationship. In the meantime, Padma shows off her vocal ability at a basement party, eventually confronting Marcus (Felix Mallard) about their breakup, and Blue Farm's first open-mic night gets off. There is also some rumors of a romance between her and Hunter (Mason Temple).
