Club career

Bonazzoli played for Ghedi and Montechiari before joining Inter Milan at the age of 7.

In the 85th minute of a 1–2 away loss on the last day of the Serie A season, Bonazzoli made his senior debut against Chievo Verona as a replacement for Rubén Botta. He was the second youngest footballer to play in Serie A for Inter, aged 16 years, 11 months, and 27 days, 17 days older than Massimo Pellegrini, who appeared in 1982. He made his UEFA Europa League debut against Saint-Étienne in the group's 1–1 draw. He was replaced by Joel Obi in the 66th minute.

On February 2, 2015, he signed for fellow league Sampdoria for €4.5 million, but Inter will remain on loan until the end of the season.

He was signed by Serie B club Lanciano on a season-long loan contract, with the possibility of purchasing. On July 22, he joined Brescia on loan.

Bonazzoli joined Torino on loan on October 5, 2020.

US Salernitana reported the signing of Bonazzoli on a season-long loan with the ability to buy on August 3, 2021. In his Coppa Italia debut victory over Reggina, he scored two goals.

Bonazzoli joined Salernitana on a four-year deal, worth €5 million.

International career

He was a member of the Italy U-17 team and competed in the 2013 European Under-17 Championships.

In a home friendly match against Denmark in which he lost 1–0, he made his first appearance with the Italy U-21 team, becoming the youngest player to make his team debut at the time.
