Life and career

Federica Falzon was born in a small village called Safi, Malta, on February 17 (Maltese: 'al Safi). She has been involved in music for the majority of her life and began singing at age 8. Her grandpa took her to karaoke clubs, where the majority of people encouraged her to take singing lessons. Falzon performed for the first time at Festa Hiliet in 2011. Lynn Anderson performed two songs, "Sailing" by The Sutherland Brothers and Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden."

Federica started out as a country-pop singer but she discovered her passion for classical music through her vocal tutor and mentor Gillian Attard from Malta's La Voix Academy. Falzon has also participated in San Diego D.C. Despite not knowing any Italian when she first arrived in Italy, she won RAI UNO's Ti lascio una canzone 2014. Falzon defeated Ghanja Gmiel is-Seba Noti with an original song called "Ilwien il Holqien" (Nature's colors).

Falzon was one of the guest performers in the Granaries Floriana by Maltese tenor and internationally acclaimed Joseph Calleja on July 18th.

Federica debuted Malta on November 15, 2014, at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta, on home soil. According to lyricist Matt Muxu Mercieca, Federica's "way out of the storm" and how "all together we will shine, like diamonds in the sky."
