Edmonton survives! The Oilers deny the Florida Panthers their first Stanley Cup again in 5-3 victory, sending series back to Canada for Game 6

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 19, 2024
The Edmonton Oilers are not done yet! Canada's last hope to end the country's more-than-three-decade Stanley Cup drought did not extend at least one more year on Monday against the Florida Panthers. The Oilers scored four of the game's first five goals and held of a furious Panthers rally to send the series back to Alberta, giving Florida a third straight game where a victory ends the NHL season. Game 6 will be Friday night in Edmonton. The teams have spilt the two previous games at Rogers Place thus far in the series.

Stanley Cup Final 2024: Edmonton Oilers look to finally snap Canada's 31-year drought, while the Florida Panthers desperately chase their first ever title... but who comes out on top?

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 8, 2024
Whichever way the 2024 Stanley Cup Final ends, a drought will be ended for one of the two teams in it. On one side there's the Florida Panthers - a team who has been this far twice and has fallen both times: once in 1996 to the Colorado Avalanche and last year to the Vegas Golden Knights. Then there's the Edmonton Oilers - who haven't touched the Stanley Cup since 1990. They also carry the burden of Canada upon their shoulders, as the Great White North hasn't hoisted the trophy in 31 years.

The Vegas Golden Knights beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-1, with a goaltending dooms

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 11, 2023
Adin Hill, the Vegas Golden Knights' goaltender, had an evening to remember as he had four straight goals to celebrate, and the Edmonton Oilers defeated Game 4 by a 4-1 scoreline. Both Nick Bjugstad, Evan Bouchard, Mattias Ekholm, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all scored goals for the Oilers, who ended the series at two games apiece. Nicolas Roy, the Golden Knights' forward, ignited some excitement with a third period goal, but Vegas did not follow him.
