Life and career

Lind was born in Innsbruck. She began her vocal training at the Tyrol State Conservatory in her hometown city and was first named Austrian competition Jugend Musiziert in 1983. In Wagner's Parsifal at the Tyrolean State Theatre in the same year, she debuted as Flowermaiden. She continued her study in philosophy, journalism, and drama at the University of Vienna, where she continued her professional training as a singer. Marta Lantieri, Ruthilde Boesch, and Wilma Lipp were her teachers.

Lind appeared in Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Vienna State Opera in 1985, where she appeared as an ensemble member in subsequent years, including Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Sophie in Die Fledermaus, and Sophie in Massenet's Werther.

In the 1985/86 season at the Theater Basel, she made her international debut when she appeared in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. In 1986, she appeared at the Salzburg Festival as an Italian singer in Capriccio. In Monte-Carlo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Stuttgart (Die Fledermaus), Zürich, Munich (The Magic Flute), she made her house debuts (Lucia di Lammermoor). In 1988, she appeared in the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Jean-Pierre Ponnelle's latest production of The Magic Flute directed by Daniel Barenboim. Nannetta in Verdi's Falstaff conducted by Bernard Haitink in 1988, she appeared in Royal Albert Hall and the Glyndebourne Festival for the first time. She debuted in 1991 in the role of Gilda (Rigoletto) with Alfredo Kraus at the Teatro de la Maestranza and 1996, she appeared in Violetta (La traviata) at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. In 1997, she appeared in Wagner's Siegfried at La Scala in Milan, and in 1998, she received an Oscar in Un ballo in maschera at the Arena di Verona Festival.

She appeared as the leading role in Mascagni's operetta S premiere at the Vienna Volksoper in 2002.

In January 2010, she and members of the Vienna Philharmonic went on a concert tour through Japan and gave a solo recital at Milan's Teatro Dal Verme on May 5th, 2010. She sang Gilda in Rigoletto at the Opera Festival in Solothurn in July 2010. Leo Nucci as Rigoletto.

Lind performed regularly in China, including opera and concert appearances. Constanze is a film that focuses on women in Hong Kong's Staatstheater Stuttgart. In 2005, she debuted in the role of Rosina in The Barber of Seville in a guest appearance of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma at the Shanghai Opera House. She toured Beijing, Qingdao, Dalian, Hangzhou, Meizhou, Hangzhou, China, from December 2010 to January 6th in New Year concerts with the Berliner Symphoniker. She and Chinese pianist Xin Sui went on a solo recital tour to Shanghai, Chongqing, Dalian, Xuzhou, Nanning, and Nanchang in March-April 2014.

Eva Lind made her television appearances and became well-known to the general public. She made her first television appearance on the ORF talent show Die große Chance in 1983. She appeared in 1985 alongside Montserrat Caballé and Marilyn Horne in the TV production Rossini at Versailles under Claudio Abbado's direction. In 2002, she introduced the Stars von morgen collection on Arte. She performed and appeared in ZDF's program Adventliche Klänge aus Dresden, which took place in 2003 and 2004. She joined Gotthilf Fischer as a host in Straße der Lieder's Saturday evening Volkslieder scheme on ARD until the program's closure in 2008. Gunther Emmerlich and she hosted the Semperopernball on MDR Fernsehen in 2009.

In 2015, Lind founded the Academy of Music Tyrol (Musicakademie Tirol), which provides masterclasses in classical singing and instruments.
