He is best known for his role as Dewey, the younger brother of middle child Malcolm on Fox's Malcolm in the Middle.
Early life
Fred Sullivan, of Irish descent, who owns a Mexican restaurant named The Alamo, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on July 12, 1991, the only child of his mother, Ann, who was born in Sweden and naturalized as a US citizen in 2007. He speaks a little Swedish, and his family visits Sweden almost every year. He began studying piano and the saxophone at a young age. In Taekwondo, he has a first-degree black belt.
Sullivan attended Mount Saint Charles Academy in Rhode Island and Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. He attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles starting in 2009.
Career
In Malcolm in the Middle's younger brother Dewey from January 9, 2000, to May 14, 2006, Sullivan appeared alongside Malcolm. He wrote the afterword to the children's book Together, which is about farming and was inspired by the non-profit group Heifer International in 2005.
Sullivan appeared in the 2004 film Christmas with the Kranks and has played a variety of characters in film and television, including the title role in the independent film Mo (2007), as well as voicing Sheldon the Seahorse in both the animated film Finding Nemo and the video game tie-in.
Sullivan's last acting work was when he was 18 years old in the 2010 film Twelve. He has since been low profile, notably missing several Malcolm in the Middle cast reunions.
