Early life and education
Murciano was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and then attended Christopher Columbus High School and Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended New England School of Law in Boston for a time but then decided to pursue an acting career and left Boston. He went to Los Angeles and started his film career, playing Sandra Bullock in the 1997 action film Speed 2: Cruise Control.

Murciano is of Cuban descent and speaks fluent Spanish as shown in "Viuda Negra" (Spanish for "black widow") in season 4: episode 6 of "Under a Trace).

Career
Murciano appeared on Crime Drama Traffic in 2000. In 2001, he appeared in the short-lived MTV soap opera Spyder Games as Francesco Torres. He appeared in Black Hawk Down's war thriller the previous year. He met Jerry Bruckheimer there, causing him to be given a lead role in CBS' mystery drama Without a Trace. In New York City, the series revolved around a missing people unit of the FBI. From September 26, 2002 to May 19, 2009, the show appeared for seven seasons from September 26, 2002 to May 19, 2009. In 2008 and 2009, his work earned him two ALMA Awards.
Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (his second film with Sandra Bullock), the film How to Go Out on a Date in Queens, the romance The Lost City, and the Peruvian-Spanish drama Máncora are among his extra film credits.
