Career
When she was 18, singer Jean-Patrick Capdevielle convinced her to return to classical lessons in order to improve her singing technique. She found that although rock had given her more artistic autonomy and a hedonistic lifestyle than classical music, it wasn't yet enough for her to develop her own style. This was a mashup of ancient opera, modern trance, and pop music. Shapplin and Capdevielle later worked together on Carmine Meo, Capdevielle's first book.
