Speleers' first professional role in 2006 was as the lead in Christopher Paolini's hit book Eragon. He auditioned for several roles before landing the role of Eragon, including Peter Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which he lost to William Moseley.
