Domenico Dolce Life

Domenico Mario Assunto Dolce (born on August 13, 1958) is an Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur.

He and Stefano Gabbana form part of the luxurious fashion house Dolce & Gabbana (D&G).

Dolce is one of the world's most influential fashion designers and a business icon since founding D&G in 1985.

Early life and education

In 1958, Dolce was born in Polizzi Generosa, Sicily. His father was a tailor, and his mother sold fabrics and clothing. He went to Milan to study fashion design school Istituto Marangoni, but he dropped out before graduating, confident he was well versed in the field. Armani was his dream to work for him.

Personal life

Dolce and Gabbana were an open couple for many years. In 1999, the couple first appeared in it. Following their triumph, they lived in a 19th-century villa in Milan and owned several villas on the French Riviera. They also own a villa in Portofino. They ended their long-term relationship in 2003, but the two continue to work together at D&G.

According to Forbes, Dolce was Italy's 27th richest individual with a net worth of over US$1.74 billion as of October 2015.

Domenico Dolce Career

Career

Dolce's boss, designer Giorgio Correggiari, met Stefano Gabbana in 1980. Gabbana and Dolce left Correggiari to work on their own in 1983; two years later, they founded Dolce & Gabbana S.p.A. (D&G).

The Dolce & Gabbana brand made its fashion debut at Milano Collezioni's Nuovi Talenti in October 1985 (New Talents). "Real Women" was released in March 1986 and held its first collection. In 1987, the first D&G store opened in Milan, Via Santa Cecilia. In 1988, D&G formed a partnership with Saverio, Dolce's father, who operated the manufacturing firm Dolce Saverio in Legnano near Milan.

D&G's fashion empire grew, staging its first fashion preview in Tokyo (April 1989) and New York (April 1990), and introducing new collection lines, including its first lingerie and beachwear collection in 1989, as well as its first menswear collection in January 1990. In November 1990, D&G opened its SoHo, Manhattan showroom on 532 Broadway. In October 1992, D&G introduced Dolce & Gabbana Parfum, the company's first fragrance.

When Madonna selected D&G to create the costumes for her Girlie Show World Tour in 1993, the Italian designers gained worldwide recognition. They have since begun to produce for Monica Bellucci, Kylie Minogue, Angelina Jolie, and Isabella Rossellini.

Later additions to the D&G line included ties, belts, handbags, sunglasses, and boots. The company sold more products in Italy by 2003 than Armani, Gucci, Prada, and Versace. The company had 113 stores and 21 factory outlets, a staff of 3,500 employees, and an annual turnover of more than €1 billion.

JENNI MURRAY: No parent should send their child to a gender clinic aged just five

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 7, 2024
When I was around six years old, I went through an extended period of thinking life would be easier if I were a boy. I'd get away with more mischief, I reasoned, and no one would think it odd that I liked climbing trees. Of course I grew out of wanting to be a boy and became a proud woman - although I'm still fond of trousers and cars. But had I grown up in the current climate of parents who've bought into the 'we can change her sex' cult, what would have become of me?

Dolce & Gabbana releases luxury perfume for DOGS - as vet slams rich animal owners who are 'finding new ways to spend their money'

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 5, 2024
A vet has criticised a new €99 perfume for dogs - saying that the product could cause some issues for the animals. According to the Times , the scent, released by Dolce & Gabbana, is named Fefé, after Domenico Dolce's poodle and was created by master perfumer Emilie Coppermann, who has previously developed fragrances for Balmain and Paco Rabane. D&G describes the perfume as 'an olfactory masterpiece featuring the cocooning and warm notes of Ylang , the clean and enveloping touch of Musk, and the woody creamy undertones of Sandalwood'. A video promoting the scent features a number of dogs sitting on a stool, alongside close-up shots of the perfume, which is 'housed in a sleek green lacquered glass bottle, adorned with a vibrant red metal cap and a precious 24-carat gold-plated paw'.
