Career
Zanotti began to explore on his own and create a distinct style of footwear, particularly ornate with oversized crystals and stones often used in jewelry making.
He purchased the Vicini shoe factory in San Mauro Pascoli, Italy, and set about recasting the small company. He restructured his style staff and created new divisions that were specialized in making heels and ornamental jewelry.
Zanotti introduced his first Giuseppe Zanotti collection to a select group of fashion journalists and retailers in New York City in 1994. Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Barneys New York were among the first luxury stores to purchase and remain retailers of the brand today, as well as Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, among other things.
