Dmitry Shishkin (born 12 February 1992, is a Russian classical pianist.

He is best known for winning the 5th International Nutcracker Television Competition for Young Musicians.Shishkin was born in Chelyabinsk.

He was awarded 6th prize at the XVIIth International Chopin Piano Competition in 2015.

In 2018 he won 1st prize at the Geneva International Music Competition.

In 2019 he won 2nd prize at the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition.

Career

Irina Shishkina, a teacher and pianist born in Chelyabinsk on February 12, 1992, was his first piano tutor. He could already play short works, gave his first concert at the age of three, and appeared with an orchestra three years later.

He attended the Pyotr Tchaikovsky School in his hometown from the age of four. He attended the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow, where he studied with Mikhail Khokhlov for five years. Eliso Virsaladze has been studying at the Moscow Conservatory since 2010. He appeared in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in the same year. On Red Square, the public and the state authorities are welcomed by 1 person, accompanied by Mikhail Khokhlov's 'Virtuosos of Gnessin' Orchestra. Currently, he is enrolled at Bellini Conservatory and Rachmaninov Academy, and he is also an engineer at Elifanio Comis.

He has received many awards, including in the 59th Ferruccio Busoni Competition (2013, Third Prize) and in international tournaments in Russia, China, Germany, Bulgaria, Bulgaria, and Poland. He has also participated in the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition (2015, Sixth Prize). He has appeared with orchestras around Russia, including the Moscow State Symphony and the Moscow Philharmonic. He has appeared in Bulgaria, Germany, the former Yugoslavia, Italy, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Austria, China, Poland, and South Korea. He also composes, other than piano. He lives in Switzerland.

In Gramophone, his album was described as "of a high order," as befits a Geneva first prize and a Tchaikovsky Silver Medal winner."
