Christopher Edward Martin (born March 21, 1966), also known as Preemo, is an American record producer and DJ, and he was a member of the hip hop duo Gang Starr, which also includes emcee Guru—and was half of the hip hop duo PRhyme, as well as Royce da 5'9."

He is regarded as one of the best hip hop producers of all time.

Early life

On March 21, 1966, Christopher Edward Martin was born in Houston's Fifth Ward. He was then born in Prairie View, Texas, before transferring to Brooklyn, New York, in his adolescent years. He attended Prairie View A&M University, where he refined his musical abilities as the campus DJ, and he performed with the Marching Storm band occasionally.

Musical career
