David Graham (born 1924 or 1925) is an English character actor and voice artist.
Following his service in the Royal Air Force as a radar technician, he trained in New York City as an actor and has since concentrated heavily on British television.
During the 1960s, Graham appeared on television programs Doctor Who and Thunderbirds.
Life and career
Graham was born in London in July 1925 and trained as an actor in New York City after being in the Royal Air Force as a radar technician.
During the 1960s and 1970s, he appeared in various characters in the science-fiction television series Doctor Who, most notable Dalek voices (1964), The Dalek Invasion of Earth (1964), The Chase (1965); and The Daleks' Master Plan (1965–1966). In The Gunfighters (1966) and as time-travel scientist Professor Kerensky in City of Death (1979), he appeared in person as barman Charlie in The Gunfighters (1966) and as time-travel scientist Professor Kerensky (1979). In 2017, Graham introduced the character Percy Till in the Big Finish Doctor Who audio book Static.
For Gordon Tracy, Brains, Parker, and Kyrano's Supermarion TV series Thunderbirds (1965–66), as well as its film sequels: Thunderbirds Are Go (1966) and Thunderbird 6 (1968), Graham provided the regular voices of Gordon Tracy, Brains, Parker, and Kyrano. He also voiced Brains' robot assistant, Braman, in the same universe (a minor recurring character). Among his many achievements during his time with Thunderbirds producer Gerry Anderson are Four Feather Falls (1960), Supercar (1961–62), Fireball XL5 (1962–63), and The Secret Service (1969).
In the 1963 film "Man in the Mirror," he appeared in Callan, Timeslip, So Haunt Me, Danger Man, The Saint, Howards' Way, Softly, Softly, So Haunt Me, Danger Man, The Saint, Howards' Way, The Regiment, The Judge, The Fixer, The Sentiment Agent, and The Avengers. To two episodes of The Tomorrow People, he appeared on puppet voices. He appeared in the second series of the 1970s drama When the Boat Comes In and later in the fourth series as "Morty Black," the American Businessman and best friend of Jack Ford's main character, played by James Bolam.
Graham appeared in the "1984" television Super Bowl commercial, which was shot in 1983 to introduce the Apple Macintosh computer. Moomin and Dominion: Tank Police, an animated children's television series, are among his other voiced characters. In Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom, Graham provided the voices of Grandpa in Peppa Pig and Wise Old Elf. In Thunderbirds Are Go, the 2015 version of Thunderbirds that was broadcast in the United Kingdom early 2015, he revived the voices of Parker and (later) Braman. Following Raymond Cusick's death, Graham was interviewed by Paddy O'Connell for BBC Radio 2 in February 2013.
Graham announced his retirement as an actor and voice artist in April 2021. Graham had suffered a stroke six months before and was unable to leave his house in London in December, according to actor George Layton, a longtime Graham's friend. However, Layton said that Graham was recuperating by doing voice-overs of his characters.
