According to the court, the City employee, who was in her 20s, was helped into Jacobs' taxi by coworkers who feared she would upset her boss. She told detectives that she recalled a man with a long hairstyle and pot belly pulling a dress over her head and then having sex with her. In her closing address, Rhiannon Crimmons, a KC, told the jury: "It is not rape for a man to have sex with a woman who has been drinking." The married father-of-two, of Barking, east London, denied that the woman consented to sexual intercourse in her apartment and the jury found him guilty of rape.
