David "Davey" Hamilton (born June 13, 1962 in Nampa, Idaho), is a racer in the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series and Stadium Super Trucks.
He has started 56 series starts, and although never winning a race, he has placed second three times.
He came in second in series points from 1996-1997 to 1998, and again in 1998. Hamilton had been an effective in supermodified racing as a frequent winner in numerous supermodified races, mainly in the northern areas of the United States.
Life after retirement
In 2003, Hamilton became the color commentator for Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network broadcasts. He later began racing the IndyCar, which provides rides to VIPs and celebrities at IndyCar Series races.
Hamilton joined the new American Speed Association, collaborating with ASA founder Dennis Huth, to take over the popular Southwest Tour for 2007, just weeks after NASCAR discontinued the iconic Southwest Tour, which includes the famous Southwest series. The Speedco Southwest Tour car series is based on the same cars as the former NASCAR-sanctioned series.
