Dave Kearney Career

Career

Kearney played his first match for Leinster on May 16, 2009, against the Newport Dragons, who were playing as a replacement. In December of the 2009–10 season, he scored his first attempt in a Leinster jersey against the Newport Gwent Dragons, one of three matches he played that season. He scored four goals in 13 Celtic League matches during the 2010-2011 season in Kearney's third season with Leinster. In a victory over Zebre in the Pro14 on March 12, Kearney earned a hat-trick, bringing his total number for Leinster over 50 to 51. Following a good season in the Championship, Kearney was named to his first Pro14 Dream Team following the 2020–21 campaign.

Kearney has 17 caps for the Ireland U-20 squad as well as two caps for the Ireland Wolfhounds. He scored a try against England Saxons in his second match for the Wolfhounds on January 28. Kearney has 19 caps for the senior Ireland team, making his debut against Samoa as a replacement, scoring two goals. When Ireland won their 12th Championship title, he was one of only three players to play the full 80 minutes in every match, as well as his brother Rob and Jamie Heaslip.
