Early life
Dario Chiazzolino was born in Turin, Italy. He began playing the guitar at age of 12. He graduated from Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin.
Career
He began playing jazz with several Italian jazz musicians as a youth. Charlie Parker, Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, and Bill Evans all influenced his music. He appeared in Umbria Jazz Festival in 2006, where he was named "Best Guitar Player"; he then joined Berklee/Umbria Jazz Clinics 2006 Award Group. He appeared at the Umbria Jazz Winter Festival with this band. He has performed with jazz artists including Billy Cobham, Yellowjackets, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Bob Mintzer, Russell Ferrante, William Kennedy, Jimmy Haslip, Felix Pastorius, Julio Bartz, and Dave Liebman during his career.

He participated in the Principles Sound project. Bob Mintzer, Russell Ferrante, and Jimmy Haslip, members of the Yellowjackets, have formed this band. He made the album Lost in the Jungle with them. After that, Dario participated in the 2012 Tour de Mont Blanchets.
In June 2013, he recorded the album Rewriting Song with the Italian guitarist Nico Di Battista. He appeared in a duel with Cuban bassist Dany Noel Martinez the same year: their album is titled Confidence.
Chiazzolino formed his new band in order to record his new leader album. In 2014, he recorded Red Cloud with pianist Antonio Farada, bassist Dominique Di Piazza, and drummer Manhu Roche.
