Daria Sergeyevna Kasatkina (born 7 May 1997), a Russian professional tennis player, is a Russian professional tennis player.

Around the 2018 season, she made her top ten debut in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.

She has won two WTA singles as well as one in doubles. Kasatkina's older brother played tennis at age six and was nationally ranked in athletics and ice hockey.

At the 2014 French Open, she excelled as a junior, winning the European 16s championship and one junior Grand Slam singles title.

Kasatkina soared to the top of the national charts, achieving No. 1 in the first week. Although 18 years old and winning her first WTA title as a teen at the Charleston Open, she is still 32nd in the world.

Early life and background

Daria was born in Tolyatti, Samara Oblast, to Tatyana Borisovna (née Timkovskaya) and Sergey Igorevich Kasatkin. Tolyatti is a manufacturing city about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) southeast of Moscow. Her father works as an engineer at the Volga Automotive Plant, and her mother was a solicitor. Both of her parents were nationally ranked athletes in Russia (formally known as Candidates for Master of Sports); her mother worked in athletics; and her father played in ice hockey. Alexandr, Kasatkina's older brother, is also a member of the Russian Federation. Her brother had played tennis casually and had begged for her to try it out when she was six years old. Junior career

Kasatkina was ranked No. 1 as a junior when she was ranked No. 1. In the world, the United States ranks 3rd highest. She started competing on the ITF Junior Circuit shortly after turning 14 years old and winning her first title in just her second appearance in the low-level Grade 4 Samara Cup, the low-level Grade 4 Samara Cup.
