Danni Ashe Career

Career

Ashe was born in Beaufort, South Carolina, United States. She had naturally large breasts (cup size 32FF) and was a natural performer.

Ashe began working as a stripper in Seattle, Washington. She started stripping at the age of seventeen using a fake ID since she was never finishing high school. Ashe once described her work choice: "I guess I'm an exhibitionist." However, that isn't really true. Parts of the explanation are that I had big breasts from an early age and that breasts are a sexualized thing. I was getting a lot of sexual attention at an early age. "I just felt that stripping kind of brought all that stuff out on the table."

Ashe began working in Seattle and moved to Los Angeles to film for men's magazines and soft-core pornographic films. She then performed as an exotic dancer in various strip joints around the country as a featured performer. In Jacksonville, Florida, a technically non-nude club was involved in an incident. Ashe has alleged that the club's founder and its manager prohibited her from attending a topless dance and encouraged her to sell softcore videos of herself at the club. He was later arrested after being detained. He pleaded guilty to "prohibited conduct" and was fined $50. Neither the club nor her rep assisted her during this incident. Ashe never performed as a stripper again, she decided instead to work in a sector where she would have more influence.

During late 1994 and early 1995, her first online activity was restricted to Usenet newsgroups. When her husband, then a senior vice president of the Landmark theater chain, revealed her company's new website in the spring of 1995, she decided to create her own website. As she couldn't find anyone who could help her design her own website as she had imagined it, Ashe began to read The HTML Manual of Style and Nicholas Negroponte's Being Digital on vacation, Ashe said, she was disappointed. Danni.com was created by the artist on her return to the United States. The website of Danni's Hard Drive (Hard Drive) in two weeks.

The website was launched in July 1995 and contained exclusive content. Prior to heading to New York City with her husband, Ashe told her friends that the website was accessible. When she reached the hotel in Manhattan, As she arrived, she received a note from her ISP indicating that the number of visitors her website received had overloaded their servers and caused their server to shut down. Danni.com was moved to its own server, which became known for having a "site working" light that never went out. She jokingly referred to her server as a "hot box," and when she began charging a fee for website use, she referred to the members' area as "The HotBox."

By 2001, the website had earned $6.5 million last year and was forecast to make $8 million that year, as well as a US$30 million. She is the only woman in the country to have been on both The Wall Street Journal and Juggs magazine's front pages. Ashe's company grew, she was able to recruit employees and models. She had 50 full-time employees, a Los Angeles (16,000 square feet [1,500 m2]), an archive containing hundreds of thousands of photos, and thousands of hours of video by 2003. Arena magazine ranked her fourth on the "50 Most Influential People in Porn" list this year. Ashe was earning a million dollars a year.

In 2004, Danni's Hard Drive was sold to John Morisano. Penthouse Media Group Inc acquired Danni.com and Video Bliss Inc. (owners of the website) for $3 million in 2006.
