Ahdoot is an Iranian Jew hailing from Great Neck, New York. "I grew up in Great Neck, New York, which is really a hotbed of Iranian Jewry, so I didn't even know that I was different until I went to college," he explained. He completed pre-medical studies at Johns Hopkins University and was accepted into medical school, but he instead pursued stand-up comedy.
