Cleo "Cleo" Demetriou (born 23 April 2001) is a Cyprus-born Olivier Award-winning child actor best known for her principal role in London's West End's Matilda.
She is also known for her role in the CBBC's So Awkward, as Lily Hampton, and for singing the song "Made of Paper" accompanying the short film Mache Man.
Early life and career
Demetriou was born in Cyprus and spent her primary school years at Brandlehow Primary School in Putney, southwest London; she later attended Chailey Secondary School and then Imberhorne School.
She is best known for her role as Matilda in the musical of the same name, for which she was awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2012.
She made her professional stage debut in 2009 in Gretl in the Sound of Music, and she has appeared in Enron and Les Misérables.
