Christina Chong Life

Christina Chong (born 1 January 1983) is an English actress.

Monroe, Line of Duty, Halo: Nightfall, Doctor Who, and 24: Live Another Day. She has appeared in many important roles in film and television, including Monroe, Line of Duty, Halo: Nightfall, Black Mirror, Doctor Who, and 24: Live Another Day.

Early life and education

Chong was born in Enfield, the daughter of a Chinese father and an English mother. She and her five siblings were first born in Broxbourne together. She and her mother and siblings migrated to Longridge, her mother's hometown, later after the divorce of her parents. Chong and her siblings were the only mixed-race students attending the local school, according to her own recollection. Chong began dancing at the age of four and attended the Sutcliffe School of Dance in Longridge. She earned a place at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London at the age of 14, five years later. She appeared in Elton John's musical Aida, which was on view in Berlin after graduation. But an injury ended her career in musical theatre, so she switched to acting, studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City for 18 months. She had trouble finding work as an actor after returning to London, appearing only in a handful of small supporting roles and commercials. She began teaching acting lessons at schools and gained a part-ownership of her chef father's Chinese restaurant in Harpenden.
