After only two series were seen after viewership plummeted, James Nesbitt's BBC crime drama was cancelled

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 2, 2024
Following a weakly performing second series, James Nesbitt's BBC crime drama was cancelled after just two series. In Bloodlands, which came out in 2021 and followed Tom as he made a connection between a kidnapping and the murder of his wife's husband, 59. Lorcan Cranitch, The Young Offenders' Chris Walley, and Victoria Smurfitt were among the series's characters. Its debut episode attracted a hefty 10 million viewers, but its 2022 series two counterpart received less than four million. Now, with no episodes airing in 2023, it is assumed that the BBC has finally cut the Northern Ireland drama.
