Christopher Oghenebrorie Okotie (born 16 June 1958) is a Nigerian televangelist and the pastor of the Household of God Child International Ministries, a Pentecostal congregation in Lagos.

Personal life

In Ethiope-West, Delta State, Okotie was born to Francis Idje and Cecilia Okotie (then Bendel State). He loved to sing as a child and was always keen to sing. He was a member of the Edo College Music Club and regularly entertained audiences of people. He never considered commercializing his talents until his first year at university, where his father's died. Jogging, martial arts, and music are among his hobbies.

Education and career

He attended secondary school at Edo College in Benin City. He obtained a degree in law from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka in 1984. Before returning to school to pursue a pop music career, Ooie abruptly stopped studying. On June 24, 2012, Osio married twice and announced that he had split from his second wife.

He returned to school to complete his education and graduated with a law degree. Although going back to law school to begin his religious studies, he halted his studies to resurrect his faith. Odessa, Oklahoma, was a student at the Grace Fellowship Bible School and founded the Household of God Ministry shortly after.

Okotie established the annual Karis Awards, which were hosted by his church, in 1990 to recognize and financially honor Nigerian citizens.
