Chelsea Clinton (born February 27, 1980) is an American author and global health advocate.
She is the only child of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and former US Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
She served as a special reporter for NBC News from 2011 to 2014 and now works with the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Global Initiative, as well as serving on the board of the foundation. During her father's first term as governor, Clinton was born in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She attended public schools before being elected President, and the family followed the White House, where she began attending private Sidwell Friends School.

Early years
Clinton was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on February 27, 1980, the only child of Hillary and Bill Clinton. During a Christmas 1978 holiday in Chelsea, her name was inspired by a trip to London's Chelsea neighborhood. "If we ever have a daughter, her name should be Chelsea," Bill said after hearing the 1969 Judy Collins recording of the Joni Mitchell song "Chelsea Morning."
When Clinton was two years old, she accompanied her parents as they campaigned through Arkansas for her father's gubernatorial status. She learned to read and write at a young age. Clinton says she started reading the newspaper at the age of three and then wrote a letter to President Ronald Reagan when she was just five years old. She begged President Reagan not to visit a military cemetery in West Germany, which includes graves of Nazi soldiers in the letter, which was photocopied and stored by her father. Both Little Rock public schools, Clinton attended Forest Park Elementary School, Booker Arts and Science Magnet Elementary School, and Horace Mann Junior High School. She skipped the third grade.

Her mother wrote an open letter urging journalists to leave her daughter alone this week, the week she was on campus. Chelsea, her parents, Secret Service agents, and nearly 250 journalists all arrived in Stanford in a motorcade. Bullet-proof glass was used in her dorm windows, and security cameras were installed in hallways for her safety. In her dorm, she had secret service agents dressed in plain clothing. Chelsea's four years at Stanford were out of public view, with the exception of an occasional tabloid story about her.
At Stanford in 2001, Clinton earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, with highest accolades. The 1998 Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland, which Jack Rakove had consulted, was the subject of her 167-page senior thesis. Chelsea's parents released a note at the time of Chelsea's graduation: "We are so grateful for Chelsea's friendships and enriching learning experiences at Stanford and we are very proud of her on this special day."
Chelsea began a master's degree at University College of Oxford, where her father had studied politics as a Rhodes Scholar. Professional life
Clinton joined McKinsey & Company in New York City in 2003 and went to work for Avenue Capital Group in late 2006. She served as co-chair for a fund-raising week for the Clinton Foundation and then became Vice Chair for the Foundation. She serves on the board of the School of American Ballet and on the IAC's board of directors. Clinton was appointed to the board of directors of Expedia Group in March 2017.
NBC named Clinton as a special reporter in November 2011. With Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News and Rock Center, one of her duties was reporting news about "Making a Difference." It was a three-month deal, which allowed her to continue working for the Clinton Foundation and continue with her education. Clinton made his debut on the Rock Center show on December 12, 2011. Although she received some critical feedback for her work, Clinton's deal with NBC was renewed in February 2012. In May 2013, Rock Center ceased operations, and she left the program in August 2014. Clinton is believed to have earned $600,000 a year for her work at NBC.
Clinton co-authored a scholarly book on global health policy and was the author of five children's picture books, two of which were best sellers, and co-authored a scholarly book on global health care. Personal life
In an interfaith celebration at the Astor Courts estate in Rhinebeck, New York, on July 31, 2010, Clinton and investment banker Marc Mezvinsky were married. Clinton is Jewish, but he did not convert to Judaism because he was a Protestant. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and Edward Mezvinsky, both current members of Congress, were raised in the Conservative Jewish faith. In Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the senior Clintons and Mezvinskys were colleagues in the 1990s and their children attended a Renaissance Weekend retreat. They first appeared to be a couple in 2005 and then became engaged over Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.
Following their wedding, the couple lived in New York City's Gramercy Park neighborhood for three years and then bought a $10.5 million condo in Manhattan's NoMad district. On September 26, 2014, their first child, a daughter named Charlotte, was born. On June 18, 2016, their second child and first son, Aidan, was born.
