Chad Greenway (born January 12, 1983) is a retired American football linebacker who spent his entire 11-year career with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL).

He played college football at Iowa and was drafted by the Vikings in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

Early years

Greenway attended Mount Vernon High School in South Dakota, where he earned first-team distinctions as a junior and senior, as well as third-team honors as a sophomore. College career

Greenway attended the University of Iowa and played for the Iowa Hawkeyes football team from 2002 to 2005. In 2001, he redshirted his freshman season. He sustained a knee injury as a freshman in 2002 and did not participate in the first four games. He began in 2003 as a outside linebacker in all 13 games and was named second-team All-Big Ten. Professional career

In the first round (17th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected Greenway. Greenway was the third linebacker drafted in 2006, behind Ohio State's A. J. Hawk (fifth overall) and Florida State's Ernie Sims (ninth overall).

The Minnesota Vikings agreed to a five-year, $10.75 million contract with a guarantee of $6.14 million.

Greenway trained to be a starting linebacker against E. J. Henderson and Ben Leber during training camp.
