Caroline Vanessa "Carrie" Grant (née Gray, born 17 August 1965) is a British vocal coach, television host, and session singer.

Personal life

Olive, Tylan, Arlo, and Nathan are four children, along with her partner David. Both of their children are neurodivergent.

Grant has suffered from Crohn's disease since the age of 18, and science education charity Sense about Science has lauded her efforts in raising the profile of the disease without making any scientifically unsound claims about available therapies. She is a supporter of Labour Party, and she spoke at the Labour Party's conference in 2012 about how she adores the National Health Service.

Grant is also a Patient Lead at The College of Medicine and has spoken at their meetings on the importance of patients in treatment decisions.

In the 2020 Birthday Honours for services to music, media, and charity, Grant was named Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).

Grant is best known for her appearances on television talent shows Fame Academy, Comic Relief Academy, and Pop Idol, as well as the children's television series Carrie and David Grant, alongside husband and colleague David Grant. When she represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest the following year with the song "I'm Never Giving Up," she came to fame as a singer in her own right with the pop band Sweet Dreams in 1983. They ranked in the top six. Grant appeared in the tenth episode of Total Wipeout in 2009.

She has been a regular reporter on BBC One's magazine show The One Show since 2010. She appeared on ITV's The Talent Show Story in 2012, where she discussed her time as a judge and mentor. Grant will head the United Kingdom national jury in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, according to a publication in May 2014. Grant appeared on And They're Off in January 2018. Sport Relief is a charity that helps people in need of assistance.
