Carmine Giovinazzo Life

Carmine Dominick Giovinazzo ( KAR-myne jee-AH-zoh, born August 24, 1973) is an American actor, writer, painter, and singer best known for his role as Detective Danny Messer in CSI: New York.

Early life

Giovinazzo was born and raised in the Port Richmond neighborhood of New York's Staten Island, New York, and the son of Nancy and Dominick Giovinazzo. Giovinazzo grew up to be a huge sports fan. He graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1991 and received a baseball scholarship from Wagner College. He had aspired to be a professional baseball player, but a serious back injury ended his career aspirations; with the help of his family, he went to acting. He studied acting at Wagner College and HB Studios, and spent four years in New York City in mainly non-paying positions.

Personal life

Giovinazzo plays the guitar, as well as writing stories and poetry. He is also a painter, mainly in oils, and one of his works appeared in CSI: New York's "Tri-Borough" episode. He is currently a lead vocalist in Ceesau, who has released one album, Era of the Exposed (2008). In the CSI: NY sixth-season episode "Sanguine Love," Giovinazzo wrote, the song "Tear To Spare" from this album was performed.

Giovinazzo is a cousin of Buddy Giovinazzo and Larry Romano.

Vanessa Marcil, a young actress from Giovinazzo, married actress Vanessa Marcil in a private ceremony in New York City on July 11, 2010. Marcil obtained a divorce in August 2012 on the grounds of irreconcilable inconsistencies. In March 2013, the divorce was finalized.
