Bulent Ersoy Life

Bülent Ersoy (Turkish pronunciation: [by l] (born 9 June 1952) is a transgender Turkish singer and actor. She is one of Turkish music's most well-known singers, dubbed Diva by her followers. Ersoy is known for many hits, including "Ümit Hrso" ("We Cannot Break Up), "Beddua" (Curse), "We Cannot Break Up"), "We Cannot Break Down"), "I Love Myself"), and "Bir Tanr" (Never Forget God and Me). Ersoy has released more than 30 albums so far, and has made a name for herself in Turkish music history.

1952–1973: Early life

Bülent Ersoy was born in 1952 in Malatya. Bülent renamed Erkoç (brave ram) to Ersoy (brave lineage) for the purposes of success, following Müjdat Gezen's suggestion. Ersoy began her career as a male singer in the Turkish classical music style, and she became an actor early on. Her grandparents performed classical Turkish music, and she began taking private lessons and then studied at Istanbul Municipal Conservatory. She became one of Turkey's most well-known singers and actresses in 1981 after undergoing sex reassignment surgery in London by a British plastic surgeon. Despite being a traditionally masculine name, she retained the spelling "Bülent" to describe it.

Ersoy found herself in opposition to Kenan Evren's 1980 Turkish coup d'état. Ersoy's public appearances were outlawed, as well as those of other transgender people in a crackdown on "social deviance." She pleaded with the Turkish courts to properly recognize her as a woman in order to defy the ban. In January 1982, the petition was refused. She attempted suicide a few days later. She left Turkey in 1983 in protest against the Evren regime's repressive policies and resumed her work in Germany. She made several Turkish films in Germany during her musical career. Earlier this decade, Evren left office, and many of his programs were scrapped, but some of his policies were reversed.

Ersoy said in late 2010 that she had listened to nearly 1,500 songs in the last two years and found it difficult to choose the best songs for the album. Love Convict, Aşktan Sabtan Sab's latest album, was released on October 3, 2011. Can Tanr's cannyar's song "Almak stemiyorum" (I Don't Want to Know It), as well as Orhan Gencebay's "Give Me Solace"). In addition, Gülşen's "Aşktan Saba," the album's name, is listed. Another piece in the collection is titled "Bir Ben Biliyor" (Only I and Allah know), which was a hit when it was performed by two of Turkey's top artists. Ersoy released a music video for the song on December 22nd, almost three months after it first appeared on the radio.

Ersoy's appearances on TRT in 2013 she was keen to emphasize that her pop-arabesque songs were only a 'vice' to have a career and classical music, which she obtained in University, is where her true allegiance and assistance lies. Despite the fact that her last album, In Alaturka 2000, she performed classical and Alaturka (Turkish style) songs, after which she hasn't produced any Alaturka or Classical music.

Ersoy said in a press conference in late 2015 that Orhan Gencebay had told her that no one important had been producing Alaturka for the last two years. It was their joint effort to 'get together' and consider what to expect from an album in this area, according to her. Ersoy said in early 2016 that she had listened to hundreds of songs and wasn't happy with what was offered to her (this being Pop/Arabesque music). Ersoy appears to have recovered from her semi-retired position and is creating new material, though it's uncertain when her next production will be scheduled. She has revealed that she will debut "Ümit Hrsz," a Tarkan song that was first announced in March 2019.
