Bruce Ian McCulloch (born May 12, 1961) is a Canadian actor, comedian, writer, singer, and film director.
McCulloch is best known for his appearances as a member of The Kids in the Hall, a popular Canadian comedy troupe, and as a writer for Saturday Night Live.
McCulloch has appeared on series including Twitch City and Gilmore Girls.
He wrote and produced the films Dog Park, Stealing Harvard, and Superstar, as well as the romantic comedy Comeback Season, which toured film festivals before its introduction on DVD in 2007.

Early life
McCulloch was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 12, 1961. He attended Strathcona Composite High School in Edmonton and competed in both track-and-field and swimming, winning two individual provincial titles. Dr. E.P. moved to Calgary and studied Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School is located in the United States. McCulloch is a graduate of Mount Royal University in Calgary. He got his start in sketch comedy in "The Audience," a troupe he performed with. Mark McKinney, a longtime friend and collaborator, met him in rehearsal.
Career
McCulloch starred in the 1989-1995 sketch comedy series The Kids in the Hall, which aired in Canada and the United States as a member of The Kids in the Hall comedy troupe. He produced surreal monologues, films, and songs for the show. Several of the filmed sketches were also directed by John Leopolsky. The Flying Pig, Cabbage Head, talkative schoolchild Gavin, pop starlet Tammy, secretary Kathie, and grumpy middle-aged man Gordon were among the memorable characters.
McCulloch appeared in The Kids in the Hall film Brain Candy, which was released in 1996. McCulloch drew controversies with his Cancer Boy character, who appears in the series's final episode in which he portrays otherwise depressing news in monotone, with a cheerful smile and a hit single named "Whistle When You're Low." The defamation scenes were edited out of the movie, but they were still in. McCulloch has also appeared as Grivo, a depressed rock actor, in several other roles.
He co-wrote, starred in, and was executive producer of the Kids in the Hall 2010 reunion program Death Comes to Town.
McCulloch has two albums: 1995's Shame-Based Man, directed by Bob Wiseman (allMusic praised him as the "most memorable of comedy albums: one that encourages (frequent) repeated listenings) and 2002's Drunk Baby Project.
McCulloch also supervised the music video for "My Music at Work," a tribute to the 2000 MuchMusic Video Awards. McCulloch was close friends with Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie. The video has a lot in common with many of the Hall sketches, including the office space, camera angles, and some thematic elements. McCulloch also appeared in and co-directed the music video for Odds' 1997's "Make It Mad" (the Canadian band Odds' "Make You Mad."
In the 1987 TV mini-series Anne of Avonlea, McCulloch played Fred Wright. He appeared in the 1999 comedy film Dick.
McCulloch also co-wrote and appeared in Superman's 50th Anniversary: A Celebration of the Man of Steel (1988). He appeared in the CBS primetime special (which also stars Dana Carvey, Al Franken, Jan Hooks, and others) as a patron of a store that sold counterfeit Kryptonite. In the film Super Troopers 2, he appeared as a Royal Mounted Police officer.
