ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS: On June 19th, this year, Gordon Boettger and Bruce Campbell made a new record flight attempt, the Sierra Wave in Nevada, America. The pair took off from Minden-Tahoe Airport at 2.30 a.m. and set off a '2,500-kilometer flight'. But they landed at Cedarville Airport, California, after 17 hours 25 minutes, covering a distance of 1,898 miles (3,055 kilometers). It tied for the first time in the Andes, 1,869 miles (3,008 kilometers), set by Klaus Ohlmann in 2003.
