Estée Lauder is laying off over 3,100 jobs in China due to falling sales at duty-free shops and lagging industry. The cosmetics behemoth announced layoffs on Monday morning, causing stock prices to soar by up to 16 percent in pre-market trading. It is part of the company's mass restructuring, which includes Bobbi Brown, Clinique, and The Ordinary. According to the company, the restructure should cost between $500 million and $700 million, consisting of contract terminations, asset write-offs, and other charges.
