Since he [Bachachchu] expressed more concern about the guitar, Bishwajit gave him the instrument. He was immediately attracted to Jimi Hendrix and Joe Satriani's guitar playing methods. In 1975, he was admitted to Government Muslim High School. He graduated from Muslim High School in 1979. His parents were hesitant to encourage him on his journey to become a musician. However, after his family discovered his passion for rock music, they decided on him to become a performer. Bachchu formed the "Golden Boys" band, which was later renamed as "Ugly Boys" after being in high school. Kumar Bishwajit was the band's lead singer, and Bachchu was the guitarist. Career
Bachchu formed Feelings, later known as Nagar Baul) in 1977 while playing with his own band Ugly Boys. James, the feeling's frontman, said he heard Bachchu playing guitar at a tea stall. He was astonished by Bachchu's playing style and he begged him to join the band. He joined the band in 1977 as the lead guitarist and lasted with the band for two years until 1980, when Souls' lead guitarist Sajed ul Alam left the band for the United States. Bachchu was playing with Feelings in a Chittagong club, where Souls keyboardist Naquib Khan was present. He was astonished by Bachchu's playing, and he spoke to lead singer Tapan Chowdhury about it. Both of them saw Bachchu playing in the club next day and they asked him to join Souls. He joined Souls in early-1980 and spent the next ten years as the lead guitarist, songwriter, and occasional singer. He had appeared on four studio albums of the band, including Super Souls (1982), College Er Corridore (1985), and Manush Matir Kachachach (1987), which includes the first song performed by him, "Harano Bikeler Golpo." Souls' last album, East and West (1988), was released. Bachchu left Souls in 1990 and formed his own band, Little River Band, which later became known as Love Runs Blind. In many reunion shows, he reunited with Souls and has performed with members of the band, including Tapan Chowdhury, Kumar Bishwajit, and Naquib Khan in various shows. Bachchu told The Daily Star in 2012 that he had no idea that he was in fact a scientist.
After Bachchu died out of Souls in the late 1990s, he returned to Dhaka in 1991 and married Ferdous Chandana, with whom he had been in an affair since 1986. Saidul Hasan Swapan on bass guitars formed Yellow River Band on 5 April 1991, S.I. Tutul on keyboards and Habib Anwar Joy on drums. They were mistakenly called the Little River Band, which Bachchu adored and officially named his band when they were playing in a pub in mid-1991. But, they changed their name to Love Runs Blind in 1997 after learning of the Australian rock band under the same name. LRB held their first ever concert in Dhaka, which was sponsored by BAMBA, in honor of autocratic leader Hussein Muhammad Ershad's demise. They launched LRB I and LRB II in January 1992, the first ever double album. Shukh, the band's third studio album, was released in June 1993. It contained "Cholo Bodle Jai," which was regarded by some as Bachchu's finest work. They released several albums in the 1990s and quickly became one of Bangladesh's most well-known rock bands. They appeared in Bengaluru in 1996, their first concert outside Bangladesh. LRB is the only Bangladeshi artist to perform in the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The other members of LRB announced Balam Jahangir as their new lead singer after Bachchu's death. Bachchu's wife and daughter were dissatisfied with the band's members, who were performing with a new artist under the name LRB. They begged the members to change the name. For the first few days, the band was disbanded, and Balam, the remaining members of the band, formed "Balam and the Legacy," which Balam joined. According to the Bangladesh Copyright Office, "Bachchu is the sole owner of LRB, only his heirs can run the band with the same name." Ahnaf Tazwar Ayub, Bachchu's uncle, posted on Facebook that he was "okay" with the other members of the band keeping the name, and later Bachchu's wife and daughter agreed on it.
Bachchu had already recorded and released two albums, Rokto Golap and Moyna, both of which mostly contained pop rock songs when working with Souls. Those albums also featured classical music fusion and a featured instrument, the tabla. Rokto Golap features pop rock, classical, and even adhunik bangla songs, while Moyna is an album that features pop rock and hard rock songs and has helped him achieve his success. It has been estimated that it has sold 60,000 copies in Bangladesh. Rokto Golap is his first solo album, released by Zahed Electronics, which also features the first hard rock song by him, "Anamika." Ahsan Elahi (Fanty) of Feelings on drums and percussion appeared on the album. Manam Ahmed of Miles is a student at the University of Oxford. Bachchu performed both the bass guitar and electric guitar on the album. In his second album, Ahsan Elahi (Fanty) and Manam Ahmed are also included. Emon and Mintu on keyboards, and Khayem Pearu on bass guitars appear on Moyna's second album.
Bachchu left Souls in the late 1990s and formed his own band Love Runs Blind on April 5, 1991. In 1992, the band released LRB I and LRB II, the first ever double album in Bangladesh. Bachchu did not have a solo album out for seven years. Since the introduction of Ghumonto Shohore in 1995, he continued to record the album Koshto in the Audio Art Studio, where Ghumonto Shohore was recorded. In October 1995, the album was released. Many people regard the album as his best work. "Koshto Pete Vainashi," "Koshto Kabole," and "Jege Achi Eka" were among the hit songs in the series. The album was produced by Bachchu and co-produced by Azam Babu and musicians were S.I. Tutul of LRB on keyboards and Ahsan Elahi (Fanty) of Feelings on drums and percussion. Fans were raving over the album's unveiling. The album had sold over 300,000 copies by 1996 and is one of Bangladesh's most best-selling albums.
Although Bachchu left Souls because of his passion for "rocking, melodic guitar music," his solo career was mainly pop rock, soft rock music. Bachchu had a penchant for blues, jazz, and funk from the start of his career. He's passion for those genres reflected on his band's LRB's music, but he wanted to do blues, jazz, and funk in his solo career. Bachchu founded AB Kitchen, which later became a brand in the early-1990s. Bachchu's band LRB: LRB I and LRB II in 1992 and Amader and Bishmoy in 1998 had two double albums: LRB I and LRB II.
