Avan Tudor Jogia (born February 9, 1992) is a British-British actor, singer, activist, and writer.
Beck Oliver appeared in the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious, Danny Desai's ABC Family drama Twisted, Roman Mercer in the ABC Family drama Twisted, Roman Mercer's Syfy paranormal action series Ghost Wars, and Ulysses Zane in the Starz comedy Now Apocalypse is best known for his television appearances. In the 2006 biographical television film A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story, Jogia first came to prominence with his portrayal of Danny Araujo.

Early life
Avan Tudor Jogia was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on February 9, 1992, and the son of Wendy and Mike Jogia. His father is a British Gujarati, and his mother is of English, German, and Welsh descent. He is Ketan's younger brother, a London music performer.

Jogia was a student at Killarney Secondary School until age 17 when he left to pursue acting full-time, having already earned a few small television credits. In a private interview, he explained that his parents resigned from middle school in favour of homeschooling. On the trial-basis ultimatum that he will land a job within six months – or return to schooling, he moved to Los Angeles, California.
In the 1996 musical adventure comedy film, Muppet Treasure Island, Jogia cited British actor Tim Curry as one of his early acting inspirations, particularly Curry's role as Long John Silver. Sir Ben Kingsley, a British actor, is another of Jogia's inspirations; the two will appear in Tut's 2015 miniseries and work together on the short film Of Dogs and Men in 2016.
Personal life
Jogia has described himself as "spiritual" after being a Buddhist for months and has roots in Hinduism. Jogia says he has "looked at all sorts of ways of being because I'm curious about what it takes to be human." Jogia is also a dual citizen of Canada and the United Kingdom. Jogia co-founded Straight But Not Narrow (SBNN) in 2011, with Heather Wilk and Andre Pochon as part of their team's assistance for fellow actor Josh Hutcherson. The non-profit group aims to change heterosexual stereotypes and assumptions about the LGBTQIA+ group. "No one making pure youth responsible for their apathy," Jogia said. If you see a bully beating a child and you stand idle, that's much more loud or louder than the actual oppression," the group claims. Career
In the biographical television film A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story, directed by Agnieszka Holland, Danny Araujo portrayed him for his first role in 2006. He appeared in the Canadian horror television series Devil's Diary in 2007 and played a recurring role in The CW television sitcom Aliens in America as Sam. He appeared in the 2008 Nickelodeon network original film Gym Teacher: The Film as Champ Sinclair, a role opposite Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor Christopher Meloni. He returned to the network the following year, starring in the 2009 film Spectacular! Victoria Justice, a future triumphant co-star, and Tajid, as Tajid.
On Syfy, Jogia appeared in Caprica, a spin-off of Battlestar Galactica. Ben Stark was cast in August 2008, with the series's pilot episode completed by the end of the year. In August 2012, the pilot was approved by the government and filmed in New York City in October. The show was ordered by ABC Family in February 2013, and the following month, on April 3, 2013, ABC Family ordered it as a series and production began in Studio City. "Twisted is similar to Pretty Little Liars in that it's about finding out who did it, but it's more about the human characters and the strain that life puts on them." It's also a little bit of a social commentary piece because it addresses a variety of current topics." Jogia was cast in the Spike TV miniseries Tut, alongside English actor Sir Ben Kingsley. Jogia was reunited with Twisted actress Kylie Bunbury, who portrayed Suhad –Tutankhamun's love interest in the lead role of the titular Pharaoh Tutankhamun. On the casting of Bunbury, Jogia said, "It was cool to work with someone [Bunbury] you have built-in chemistry with." I had no idea what it was going to be like going into this situation, so knowing I was dealing with someone I trusted really helped." On July 19, 2015, the miniseries, shot in Morocco, premiered on Spike and ended on July 21, 2015.

Jogia's next film appearance was the 1970s-based crime drama film Shangri-La Suite (also known as Killing the King), co-produced by Luke Grimes and Emily Browning. Two young lovers (Grimes and Browning) go to Los Angeles with the intention of murdering Elvis Presley; Jogia plays Teijo Littlefoot, an old friend of the protagonist (Grimes), who joins the pair in search of medical trasition. Sebastian was the "loving boyfriend" of a movie actor (Deutch), followed by a role in A Midsummer Night's Dream, a contemporary film interpretation of William Shakespeare's comedy of the same name. Jogia appeared in Syfy's 13-episode film titled Ghost Wars, which premiered in 2017, and it was shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but it was cancelled at the beginning of 2018.
In Rebecca Addelman's debut film, Paper Year, Jogia also appeared in a co-lead role with Eve Hewson. The project began in October 2016 and was announced in 2018. Jogia published Mixed Feelings, a book that explores growing up with a mixed race identity and whether there is a connection between those of mixed race backgrounds. The book is based on a collection of personal experiences and poems about Jogia's life. "There was a huge appetite for this conversation," he said, and after extending out to his social media pages, he "was able to sort of engage with them, research portions of their lives [...] and smash them up within the book."
