Ex-NBA star launches blistering assessment on the Lakers drafting Bronny James
www.dailymail.co.uk,
October 16, 2024
Bronny James teaming up with his father, LeBron, has proved to be a heartwarming storyline for many NBA fans, but former star DeMarcus Cousins has blasted the decision to draft the ex-USC guard. Bronny, after recovering from a cardiac arrest in the summer of 2023, had an underwhelming lone year of college basketball but was still selected by his dad's Lakers with the No. 55 overall pick. And while Cousins admitted that the father and son playing together is 'a beautiful thing,' he also thinks it sends the wrong message after a season in which the Lakers lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Bettors pile cash on Lakers' Bronny James to win NBA Rookie of the Year... despite long odds and him being picked 55TH overall in the Draft

July 3, 2024
On June 27, the Los Angeles Lakers selected LeBron James' junior with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft - making them the first father and son tandem in the league. Nearly a week after his selection, BetMGM told the New York Post that James (250/1) has received a third of the bets on the Rookie of the Year market - doubling the second-most bet-on option in Zach Edey of the Memphis Grizzlies (16 per cent). The outrageous number of wagers for James to win the award resulted in 17.5 per cent of the handle, the second-most behind Edey's 51.3 per cent.
King James does it again! LeBron leads the LA Lakers past the Pelicans and into the NBA Playoffs - despite Zion Williamson's 40-point night in postseason debut

Zion Williamson had 40 points and 11 rebounds in his NBA postseason debut. But shortly after tying the game at 95 on a driving layup with 3:19 to go, Williamson went to the locker room, throwing a towel to the floor in disgust as he walked into the tunnel with an apparent injury. Soon after, James hit a jumper, Anthony Davis dunked Austin Reaves' alley-oop lob, DeAngelo Russell hit a 3 and Davis grabbed a crucial offensive rebound, after which he hit two free throws to help the Lakers hold off New Orleans. Davis had 20 points and 15 rebounds. Russell scored 21, hitting five times from deep.
