Artemi Panarin, a professional on NHL, has been cited by Russian police for firing a weapon in an illegal location, but Rangers winger and Putin critic has received a $400 fine after pleaded guilty.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 16, 2023
Artemi Panarin, a New York Rangers star, has been banned for firing a pistol in his native Russia. According to The Novgorod Gazette, the 31-year-old winger had a firearm confiscated by police on July 6 and was fined 40,000 Rubles (about $400) for firing the weapon in an unlawful location. Panarin's probation was reduced by his own guilty plea and the fact that it was his first offense, according to the study. Panarin, a backer of jailed Vladimir Putin rival Alexey Navalny's detention trial, was much less serious than previous allegations against him in his home country. Panarin resigned from the Rangers in 2021 after being accused of beating an 18-year-old Latvian woman in 2011. The All-Star denied the allegation, saying that the Kremlin had harmed him for favoring Putin's political foe.
