About

At the age of 26, a self-described wheelchair street photographer was diagnosed with ALS. He's chronicled his own experience with the disease as well as the lives of others affected by it. "I have ALS, ALS does not have me," his social media profiles claim.

Before Fame

Before learning he had the disease, he helped himself with photography before the diagnosis, but he had to cut back on professional involvements after learning he had the condition.

Trivia

Laarne Pelec's wife helps with his photography because he no longer has the ability to hold a camera or physically set up shots.

Family Life

He learned ALS while caring for his mother, Catherine Scott, who suffered from the disease and had been fighting it for 14 years.

Associated With

Since being on the Ellen DeGeneres exhibit, he and his wife received substantial funding.
