Ann Mitchell first appeared with Simon Callow in The Erpingham Camp, where Callow made his debut. Since then, they have collaborated in many capacities, most recently eight years ago when Callow directed Mitchell in The Destiny of Me at the Leicester Haymarket. Mitchell has worked with Callow but has a long career in stage. Mitchell recalled that Eugene O'Neill was her favorite in an interview with What's on Stage. "I was about 15 years old when I first started reading him and, even at that age, I knew there was something going wrong in his unconscious." Tennessee Williams was banned from serving in the Army due to his delicacy. I also like doing Racine, which is amazing from the point of view of the language. I've just done Britannicus at the Citz.
