Life and career

Pietschmann played for football for Würzburger Kickers' youth team and was regarded as a natural performer. Later, he did his military service with the Bundeswehr, during which he became interested in theater acting. He appeared in Die Feuerzangenbowle, among other things. Pietschmann decided to continue acting seriously after a serious car crash.

He attended drama school in Bochum from 1993 to 1996, followed by a four-year stint at the Schauspielhaus Bochum drama house. Pietschmann left Hamburg for the 2000-2001 season as a director of film and television, and in 2007 he returned to the Thalia Theater in Hamburg to concentrate on film and television. He has appeared in numerous radio shows. In addition, Pietschmann has narrated several audiobooks, including The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Law of Dreams by Peter Behrens, Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot D'az.

Pietschmann rose to fame thanks to his work in GSG 9 – Ihr Einsatz ist ihr Leben. He appears on the show as Konstantin "Konny" Brendorp, who comes from a wealthy family. He has appeared in the Netflix series "The Stranger" since 2017, and he has appeared in "The Stranger."

Since then, he has appeared in numerous television shows as well as at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin.

Pietschmann and his partner, actress Jasmin Tabatabai, live in Berlin, and they have two children with her: Helena Leila (born July 5, 2009), and Johan Anton (born August 13, 2013). Pietschmann is also the stepfather of Angelina's daughter from Tabatabai's pregnancy.
