Career
Roach is well-known for his large stomach, as seen in both Trailer Park Boys and Swearnet: The Film.
Roach continued to work as a regional sales manager for Sparkling Springs, a bottled water company, for the first four years. In July 2004, he would film Trailer Park Boys on his holiday but decided against acting in order to concentrate on acting. He also appeared in a commercial for Vonage's telephone company.
When asked what it was like being shirtless in nearly every episode of Trailer Park Boys, Roach said, "it was uncomfortable at first, but after everybody in Canada has seen you, what the hell." His character is developed as Assistant Trailer Park Supervisor and Weekend Trailer Park Supervisor. Randy's character is in an on-again/off-again friendship with Trailer Park Supervisor Jim Lahey (John Dunsworth), whom he always refers to as Mr. Lahey. Lahey is largely dependent on his assistant for his daily care. In an interview, Roach confirmed that Randy is gay, though the show portrays the character as bisexual.
He appeared in the first Trailer Park Boys short film before it was turned into a series. Randy's character was the inspiration for him, but he was named Patrick and wore a shirt. Roach and Dunsworth appeared at comedy clubs and other music festivals in Canada during the shooting. After Dunsworth's death in 2017, Roach created Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic, his own stand-up comedy sketch show.
Roach worked with Investors Group as a personal finance advisor from 2009 to 2013. In the new series The Drunk and On Drugs, Roach reunited with several of his former Trailer Park Boys co-stars.
