Amit Trivedi Career

Career

Trivedi and his companions were gradually drawn to music, largely inspired by classical music. He began composing music at 19-20 years old. He formed the Om, a student band that appeared at local gigs, small shows, and live performances. Times Music took note at one of their shows and announced that their album would be released. The album, on the other hand, did not do well due to a lack of publicity. Trivedi then moved on to compose for theatre (Hindi, English, and Gujarati plays), background music for television shows, audio recordings for some Marathi films, live performances, dandiya shows, orchestras, and others. He also worked on jingles for companies like McDonald's and Airtel for a brief period of time. Arvind Vishwakarma, a sound engineer and owner of Audio Garage Recording Studio, started recording music for non-film albums. Trivedi produced some songs for Abhijeet Sawant's Junoon and one song on Prashant Tamang's debut album as part of his two-year deal. In 2004, he arranged for many artists, including Amartya Rahut, for a Marathi film Uttarayan.

When friend and playback singer Shilpa Rao suggested his name to film director Anurag Kashyap, he eventually came his way. The former was looking for a new composer with a distinct vision for his forthcoming film. Kashyap gave Trivedi the opportunity to write the Dev.D. Despite the fact that it was supposed to be his first appearance, Dev.D. fell into production delays and was postponed for a long time.

Trivedi was roped in to score Raj Kumar Gupta's directorial venture Aamir on Kashyap's suggestion. Trivedi and Gupta worked on making the soundtrack blend with the film's story, resulting in an attempt that earned critical recognition.

Dev.D. was finally released in 2008 by the end of 2008. The soundtrack, which was announced in December, featured 18 tracks from various genres. Trivedi referred to the soundtrack as a "baap (father) of various genres. He performed five songs on the soundtrack and wrote the words for one ("Aankh Micholi"). He came to fame with his unusual music, including "Emosanal Attyachar," "Saali Khushi," "O Pardesi," and many others. Before receiving the National Film Award for Best Background Score and R. D. Burman Award at the Filmfare Awards 2010, he was honoured with both the R. D. Burman Award and the Best Background Score, the highest accolade for Indian composers. Trivedi wrote the score for Wake Up Sid (2009), and one of his compositions "Iktara" was also included in the soundtrack. Trivedi was roped in by Anshu Sharma to write the team anthem "Game for More" for Royal Challengers Bangalore, a team operated by liquor baron Vijay Mallya. Trivedi also wrote the title track for the reality show Big Switch, which aired on UTV Bindaas, as well as scoring for films. He also performed the score for the ensemble romantic comedy-drama Aisha (2010), which also featured him on two songs, "Suno Aisha" and "Sham." At the News18 Reel Movie Awards from Andhadhun (2018), he received Best Song for "Naina Kasoor." In addition to "Naina Da Kya Kasoor," he sang "Laila Laila" in the film. At the Bollywood Film Journalists Awards in 2019, Power Brands named Andhadhun as the Best Music Director of the Year (BFJA).

Trivedi was the composer of the official anthem for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which was sponsored by lyricist Kausar Munir and sung by Sharvi Yadav and Anand Bhaskar. He also makes use of a vocal orchestra in an Indipop song.

He has appeared on TV for a variety of shows that have been broadcast on MTV. He also produced a title track for Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi, which was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. He also made film for Film kedaranath.
