Devi Sri Prasad Career

Career

He collaborated with veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam's son S. P. Charan on his debut music album Dance Party. He then produced the score and soundtrack for the 1999 Telugu film Devi, marking his debut as a film music composer at the age of 19. He also created a Tamil version of the film's soundtrack. It was a natural instant hit. Devi worked with Kodi Ramakrishna on the film Navvu Bathakalira (2001) after Devi (1999).

Devi made his debut with the film Anandam soundtrack album in the same year. Director Srinu Vaitla's first film collaboration was captured on the film. He has written and performed the song "Premante Emitante" and lent his vocals to another song titled "Monalisa." "The film's music is fine," Idlebrain said, although some of the tunes are inspired by 'back street boys' music." Background music is also impressive. Devi Sri Prasad has a chance to work on a full-time love story that also includes good music. This is his first major film success. He also wrote a film score for a Tamil film Badri last year. This is his first appearance in Tamil cinema.

He has five albums of the films Kalusukovalani, Manmadhudu, and Sontham, as the most notable chartbusters of the time. These films were critically and commercially lucrative, and DSP's music composition also contributed to the films' success. Sontham and Manmadhudu were considered to be the year's musical hits. The bulk of the songs on these albums were well-received. Devi Sri Prasad's music, according to a commentator writing about Manmadhudu's review, is "delightful." And the background score is also decent. The picturization of the songs has enhanced the sound of Manmadhudu." devi composed music for a patriotic film Khadgam the same year. "Meme Indians," Devi Sri Prasad's book "shows the true attitude and unity among Indians with a hint of satire and humour," Krishna Prasad wrote. Sumangali's "Nuvvu Nuvvu" sung is another of the album's best hits. Devi became one of Telugu cinema and Telugu music composers by the time.

Despite the fact that Varsham was released in 2004, Aditya Music at the film's audio launch event in Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad, on December 18, 2003. It's his second collaboration with M. S. Raju, who introduced him to the film industry through Devi in 1999. Devi performed "Neeti Mulla" on the album, his brother Gandham Sagar's debut into the music industry. The film was a big success at the box office. He received three awards, including Santosham Best Music Director and Filmfare Award for Best Music Director – Telugu. According to a reviewer, he gave the film a unique sound and left a lasting impression on the viewers with his soulful, melodious, and romantic music. In his next big hit, Arya (2004), he maintained his "romantic music" style. Devi was the first collaborator of Sukumar, Sukumar's frequent collaborator. "Aa Ante Amalapuram" was a hit in Telugu and other parts of India. By a critic of The Times of India, the six-track is regarded as the best of all time. Devi Sri Prasad, a musician who should walk away with all the kudos, was cited by another writer from IndiaGlitz: "Man who should walk away with all the kudos is musician Devi Sri Prasad." He is at his best in the songs, and in re-recording he is soothing as a cool juice in the summer heat. Nuvvante, Takadhimithom (Allu Arjun's dance make the film stand out), MY Love, Feeling The Music is a hit among the six numbers." DSP made his first on-screen appearance in two songs "Chaila" and "Sande Poddu" of Shankar Dada M.B.S. in the same year. Chiranjeevi appeared alongside Chiranjeevi.

He created the album of Varsham – Mazhai's Tamil remake next year. Devi has eleven albums in 2005, in both Telugu and Tamil, the highest number of albums to be released in a single year to date. Nuvvostanante Nenodddantana's soundtrack album, which was released on November 21, 2004, made DSP one of India's most prolific musicians. Devi remixed the song "Prema Kosamai Volalo," sung by Ghantasala in 1951's Pathala Bhairavi for the first time in his music career. DSP had the best result, according to a reviewer of Idlebrain.com. "The songs may not be as appealing if you listen on stereo," he said. But they are obviously different when they are depicted on the television screen in a variety of situations. Songs do stand out in the film as the best in the film. The re-recording and background scores are both outstanding. These songs have a sense of rhythm, merriment, emotional surge, and a burning fire. Songs in this film are a part of a story narrator. He produced the film score and soundtrack for the action films Bhadra, Bunny, and Aaru, which received a lot of success. Devi's breakthrough in Tamil was his film Sachein, which became immensely popular both commercially and critically. "Vaadi", "Dai Dai Kattikkoda," "Kanmooda", "Kanmooda," "Gundu Manga Thoppukkulle" and "Gundu Manga Thoppukkulle" of the soundtrack became chartbusters on its first day.

All romantic films were released in 2006. Bommarillu, the coming-of-age film, was the most popular of these. Critics were overwhelmingly supportive of the film's music. "Appudo Ippudo," "Nammaka Thappani" and "Bommani Geesthe" became the year's chartbusters. "Bommani Geesthe is a young and mighty start," a writer from IndiaGlitz said. Devi Sri Prasad hasn't tried anything in recent years, something he hardly ever attempts. You'd like him to try something similar again and again after listening to this. His instrumentation, particularly the violin ensemble, is simply breathtaking. The film's theme, as well as the violin, is incredibly touching. A good one in the collection." It became one of the year's best-selling Telugu music albums. A collection of Indian songs has recommended that the audiences enjoy the feel-good soundtracks. For the first time, Devi produced a classic traditional-style music album for Pournami. "Bharata Vedamuga" helped DSP honed his classical skills as well. It was an evergreen chartbuster and has been praised as one of Chitra, DSP, Sirivennala, and Charmi's finest creations as well. To The Times of India, a critic titled "six best compositions of the music director" included soundtracks of Anandam, Kalusukovalani, Manmadhudu, Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, and Arya. He went on to receive even more awards as a result of his hard work.

DSP's music composition was released in 2007. Both of the films were considered action-comedy films and music by DSP, who received largely critical and audience feedback. In the song "Good Morning Hyderabad" directed by Prabhu Deva's film Shankar Dada Zindabad, he made his second onscreen appearance alongside Chiranjeevi. Shankar Dada M.B.S., a director of his earlier created film Shankar Dada M.B.S. Devi made Kannada's debut by composing the score and soundtrack of the film Sangama next year. Trivikram Srinivas' Jalsa was the year's best show. It was unveiled on February 29, 2008, with DSP as the music director, marking his first collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas and Pawan Kalyan. "Gaallo Thelinattunde" and "My Heart Is Beating" were chartbusters of the year, and this was the year's best-selling Telugu album at the time of its release. The rights were sold to Aditya Music for 9 million, the highest for a Telugu film at that time. Devi's muisic in the film was described as "peppy, youth, and incredibly amusing," according to a reviewer. Devin's new film score for the action-thriller film Dasavathaaram starring Kamal Haasan and Asin, directed by K. S. Ravikumar, was Devin's first script for the action-thriller film Dasavathaaram. The film is one of the year's top grossers in India. Himesh Reshammiya was first considered for the film's score. Devi was chosen to write the film's score due to the unavailability of his daily call sheets.

He has five album releases since 2009. Devi and his regular collaborator Sukumar coproduced on the film Arya 2, which is the spiritual sequel to his previous film Arya (2004). He has also written for the film's dubbed versions in Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil. The songs "Ringa Ringa," "Uppenantha Prema," and "My Love Is Gone" topped the charts. Despite mixed feedback, the album's "Ringa Ringa" received cult status. His work has been recognized by various organizations. Due to its success, Devi in the 2011 Hindi film Ready revived the song's music. With the film Kanthaswamy, the same year devi had a good success in Tamil. Devinn has been invited to perform as many as four songs on the album. "Kanthaswamy's music is not Devi Sri Prasad's finest," Pavithra Srinivasan of Rediff.com said. Since its debut, the song "Excuse me, Mr. Kandasamy" has sparked controversy. Advocate V. Elango claimed to have written five lines of the song. The controversy was ultimately settled, after the film team prevailed.

DSP in Tamil Nadu's 2010 was a big year for the DSP. Both audiences and critics responded to both his albums in Tamil, Singam, and Manmadan Ambu. Devi created the Telugu dubbed version of both the films. Singam was well-received in both the Telugu and Tamil versions of this. "DSP has a reputation for sticking to his set of tunes, and here's another deviation from the norm, mainly a Haasan influence in both lyrics and music." Regardless of the reason, the end result is an album that gives you a treat. "Go for it!" Another commentator praised devi's work, adding that "A westernized folk song, jazz, melodies, a poem, and a kuthu...an album could not ask for more variety, and DSP has produced more. The latest experiments reveal his maturity and his desire for being innovative." With 100% Love and Mr., Devi returned to his favorite romantic-genre albums. In 2011, everything was to be described as a success. These were first released under the Aditya Music brand. "The pair, Sukumar – Devisri, certainly knows the pulse of the urban youth," a reviewer said, and this album is yet another great effort to grab the attention of the target audience. This '100% Love' is 100% for the youth." Devi Sri Prasad has excelled in the background score, according to another commentator. Mr. is a fictional character in the film The music critic reacted angrily to Mr. DSP's best music album ever comes out of his stereotype beats and raps, as well as other soul stirring tunes. Although there are occasional flashes of brilliance, there is a predictable mode of the mixing and a recurring background beat. Melody is absent in the majority of the songs, while energy and peppy touch are more on display. Devi Sri Prasad became the highest-paid musician in Tollywood by the time a critic called it "definitely not DSP's best work."

In 2012, he has four album debuts, two action films Gabbar Singh and Julayi, one fantasy film Damarukam, and a drama film Sarocharu. Julai's six-track album was released on July 6, 2002, which became a chartbuster. The BBC Asian Network radio station in the United Kingdom officially broadcast "O Madhu" on July 14, 2012, establishing it as the first Telugu song to be broadcast there. In a song of the album, he performed with Allu Arjun. Devi received numerous accolades and nominations for his role in the film Gabbar Singh. "Kevvu Keka" became a cult favorite as the years progress. Malaika Arora's album has a huge following. "DSP keeps the acoustics at the right level, as a veteran engineer," a commentator said. "DSP's magical tunes are missing to core in this film," Cheruku Raja of India Herald reported. Critics generally disagreed with the DSP's 50th film Damarukam. His score was praised, but his ten-track album received a mixed reception, with few romance-styled songs being released.

In late-2013 and early-2014, a three film collection of three films that were released in 2014 were released in late-2013 and early-2014. Yevadu, 1: Nenokkadine and Mirchi are among them. The music composed by DSP was well received by all these films. The Times of India's Karthik Pasupulate rated Yevadu music 3/5 and said, "Music director Devi Sri Prasad has released an album that is both high on beat and low on melody, but the galleries have unashamedly blending multiple genres. Despite the fact that there isn't one standout track on the record, it has an overriding happy vibe about it. The soundtrack album of Devi's longtime collaborator Sukumar-directed action thriller film 1: Nenokkadine was launched at a promotional function in Hyderabad, India's Shilpakala Vedika. The festival, which attracted 14,500 people, was broadcast live in 24 theatres around Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and was the first Indian soundtrack release event to be shown in theatres. Attarintiki Daredi, his year's best hit of the year, was announced on 19 July 2013. Devi remixed an old folk song "Kaatama Rayudu," a 1940 film Sumangali, whose tune was revived by V. Nagaya and lyrics were re-written by Samudrala Raghavacharya. Pawan Kalyan sang it. Devi wrote multi-genre songs on the album, the first in his career. "Attarintiki Daaredhi" is the album that every Telugu filmgoer would like from Pawan Kalyan's hit trio of Devi Sri Prasad and Trivikram Srinivas, according to a commentator. The album has melody, pepiness, and energizing qualities that will definitely change the overall feel of the film." He has been nominated for his contribution to the field of music. Iddarammayilatho and Singam II were two other albums that did well this year. "DSP gets a foot-tapping album in Singam 2, but it's uncomfortably similar to Singam," a critic of The Times of India said. Iddarammayilatho's "Top Lechipoddi" was the biggest hit of the year's release. It is one of the most streamed Telugu songs ever. Devi reclaimed Tamil success with the film Veeram in 2014. Alludu Seenu was another hit song of the year. Aditya Music thanked Devi Sri Prasad and the film makers, one of the company's representatives, said that "Devi Sri Prasad, who has performed numerous hit albums in his career, has performed well on the soundtrack album, and it has been making headlines from the day it was released."

For the DSP, 2015 was a mixed-musical year. Because he received both positive and critical feedback from critics. While these films received a positive response, Kumari 21F and Nenu Sailaja were considered "musical hits" of the year. On the whole, a reviewer found that the Kumari 21F album falls short of the expectations one would expect from DSP. Nisar found "Meghaalu Lekunna" on a live orchestra, which Nisar found "rare these days." 123Telugu.com wrote about Nenu Sailaja's album, "DSP has some feel good music that will go along with the story's flow." The lyricists did a fine job at bringing emotions out of every song. Sailaja, Em Cheppanu, are very strong and will do well with all sections, despite a strange sensation. After joining Vijay and Sachein (2005) and Villu (2009), the film score and soundtrack of fantasy-adventure film Puli was composed by collaborating with Vijay for the third time. The film received poor feedback at the box office and also received scathing feedback. The film score was lauded, but the soundtrack was criticized. "Puli's music will require the grand visuals as it is planned, so keep in mind what is going to be onscreen." The album in all is racy, but only in portions, according to Indiaglitz's reviewer. The enthusiasm, which is characteristic of DSP, appears to have dipped in his search for a variety of instruments, orchestrina of genres and classic melodies. DSP has been praised for writing music for Srimanthudu and S/O Satyamurthy, two of the year's best-grossing films. He has been recognized for his contributions to score and soundtrack, as well as singing.

Devi next collaborated with Sukumar on the film Nannaku Prematho in 2016 for the fifth time. In an audio launch ceremony on December 27, 2015, Satyamurthy, Devi's father, was dedicated to the musician. "It is not vintage DSP at his best," critics cited the album as "a fun album with a smattering of experimentation," as well as mass numbers with a hint of experimentation." Janatha Garage, the same year as his first full launch, received a warm response from the audience and critics. Sardaar Gabbar Singh, an action-comedy film, didn't receive much attention. For this film, he remixed "Naa Koka Baagunda" from the Chiranjeev-star Kondaveeti Raja (1986). In 2017, Devi had eight album debuts, none of which Khaidi No. Duvvada Jagannadham, a 150 and DJ, were both profitable. The two albums' biggest hits, "Ammadu Let's Do Kummudu," "Ratthalu," and "Seeti Maar," were among the songs on the two albums. "DJ-Duvvada Jaggannadham's jukebox meets every sort of apprehension that Allu Arjun's followers must have hoped for from the hit duo," A. Kameshwari of The Indian Express wrote. Jai Lava Kusa is another film that has received a positive reaction for music. "Devi Sri Prasad does an excellent job at compiling songs for the Raavana-inspired film, according to a Firstpost reviewer. The theme is screaming out in almost three songs. On a deeper look at Jai Lava Kusa's album, we're left wishing for a romantic track, but it seems that the designers made a conscious decision to stick to the beats."

Devi's year 2018 is one of the most notable ones. The audience and commentators all applauded Rangasthalam (soundtrack) for his participation and admiration. The album includes "Rangamma" and "Jigelu Rani," two of the most popular Telugu songs. Devi's rare folk-traditional-classic-style album received a lot of attention, so the film is a periodical-styled. "Every song on this album is tailor-made for the movie set in a village and captures rural essence at its best," a Firstpost reviewer said. The album serves as a quick reminder of many Telugu shows, like Rasamayi Daruvu." Devi Sri Prasad, another commentator, was cited by another critic as the other hero of Rangasthalam. "In essence, the Rangasthalam album is rustic," Priyanka Sundar of Hindustan Times wrote. Devi has received several awards for his role in the film. Saamy2 is his last Tamil film until now. The film is branded as a box-office bomb. Both Bharat Ane Nenu and Hello Guru Prema Kosame were excellent musical hits, but they received mixed feedback. Farhan Akhtar was forced to perform "I Don't Know" in the album Bharat Ane Nenu.

Devi had four new releases in 2019. They were all well-hits. DSP's songs, according to Suresh Kavirayani of Deccan Chronicle, are the main points of the film Chitralahari. According to another critic writing about Maharshi's music, "OST of Maharshi is fine for a one-time listener; they may be more effective when seen on-screen." "F2's core of Fun and Frustration received acclaim." Devi only had one release in 2020, i.e. Sarileru Neevvaru. After F2: Fun and Frustration, he worked with director Anil Ravipudi. The audience responded well to "Mind Block" and "He's So Cute" songs from the album. However, critics of his work had sluggish reviews of it, quoting them as regular compositions. "The album is not exactly DSP being on fire," IndiaGlitz's reviewer said. But it has its good moments." The music of the film, according to another Gulf News analyst, is not too good.

After a brief setback, he reclaimed fame through the soundtrack album and score of Uppena (2021). The film is regarded as a "musical hit." The majority of the songs on the soundtrack were well-received. The album's most popular hits, "Nee Kannu Neeli Samudram" and "Jala Jalapaatham Nuvvu," were the best hits of the year and were also in the top songs on the national music charts. Devi Sri Prasad's brilliant music, according to a reviewer, "one of the film's top points is his spectacular sound." In a big way, it holds the story. "Each song is superbly planned and shot well." "Devi Sri Prasad's outstanding music for the songs in this film," Jeevi of Idlebrain.com said.

Devi is also a well-known playback artist. In a span of 20 years, he has performed 66 songs in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages. He mainly sang in his own compositions. For the first time in 2000, he lent his vocals for the song "Vechavechaga" written by him for the film album Vaini, which was directed by Mani Sharma. He performed four songs, two Telugu and two Tamil, in the upcoming year. Devi made his debut in Kollywood and Tamil music by lending his vocals for two songs "Angel Vandhaale" and "King of Chennai" from Ramana Gogula's film album Badri.

"Tellarindoi," "Kanthasamy," "Rakhi Rakhi," "Mr. "Perfect," "Ninnu Chudagane," "Singam," "Nannaku Prematho," "Ammadu Let's Do Kummudu" and "Yentha Sakkagunnave" are his most popular ones. Very few of them were written by him. In the 2006 film Sri Ramadasu, composed by M. M. Keeravani, the DSP performed a devotional song. In the 2011 film 100% Love, he collaborated with actress Swathi Reddy on the song "A square B square." For his late father, he dedicated the song "Nannaku Prematho" to him. He and his brother Sagar appeared in the performance. The album received a positive reaction.

For the 2015 film Bhaag Johnny, Devi performed a Hindi song "Daddy Mummy." It was re-composed by himself from Shankar Dada Zindabad's previous song "Akaleshe." Devi re-composed and re-mixed several of his own songs in other languages, particularly in Tamil and Hindi. "Seeti Maar" from the 2021 Hindi film Radhe, is the last one to be re-composed and re-mixed on the 2017 soundtrack album DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham. He also performed "Dil Maange More" from his own directed film Sangama.

In Telugu and Tamil, the DSP had written over 25 songs. The majority of these songs were either performed by him or composed by him.

Devi Sri Prasad gave his first live performance outside of India on June 26, 2008, in Chicago, United States. On June 14, 2014, he announced his first concert tour. The concert will be held from 4 July 2014 to 2 August 2014 in various cities throughout the United States and Canada. He spoke with the next day at a private event. Sagar, Neha Bhasin, Rita Thyagarajan, Ranina Reddy, Malathy Lakshman, and Sooraj Santhosh were among the night's featured dance performances by several local American artists. The Prudential Center, New Jersey, closed on August 2nd, 2014.

Devi has appeared at numerous concerts around the world, particularly in the United States. His 2016 concert tour in the United States received a large audience and was telecasted on Zee Telugu. Devi Sri Prasad paid tribute to Michael Jackson on his birth anniversary in 2014 with a special track from his album Jalsa.

Devi Sri Prasad was supposed to make his acting debut. Sukumar will be writing the story, which was created by Dil Raju, in 2019. However, there is no official announcement as of right now, due to limited manufacturing issues. Devi made his television debut as a judge in 2021 with the Tamil reality-singing show Rockstar, which premiered on Zee Tamil on March 28th 2021. Despite the fact that DSP has appeared in other Telugu and Tamil languages, this is his first major one [as a judge]. He danced for the music video of the song "Bang Bang Bang Bangkok" from his soundtrack film album Kumari 21F in 2015.
