Amir Hossein Sadeghi (born December 6, 1981) is an Iranian football player who plays for Iran's Premier Football League team Paykan.

He plays as a defender, but more often as a center-back.

Club career

He was named up to the senior team in 2003 and is one of Esteghlal's youth products. He quit and signed a one-year deal with Mes in 2008 after five years with Esteghlal and 113 league appearances.

Sadeghi has signed a two-year deal with Esteghlal after one season with Mes in which he made 30 appearances.

Sadeghi left Esteghlal in 2011 and signed with Tractor. He was instrumental in helping Tractor finish as runners-up in the Iran Pro League. Sadeghi made 31 appearances scoring twice in his first season with Tractor.

Sadeghi earned the Iran Pro League title for the second time in his career, moving back to Esteghlal from Tractor in July 2012. Sadeghi decided on a new two-year deal with Esteghlal on July 13, 2014, extending his contract until 2016.

He ended his employment with Esteghlal and joined Saba Qom on a one-year deal on July 26, 2015.

Sadeghi decided to join Peykan for a two-year contract in July 2016, following a season with Saba Qom and relegation to the Azadegan League.

International career

In 2006, he was selected one of 23 members of Iran's national football team. He became a regular player for the 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualifying round, but he was unable to attend any match in the actual competition because of few claims and differences with Malaysia's coach Amir Ghalenoei. He was called back to Team Melli again for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, but he never played a single match, and although Carlos Queiroz was in charge, he was invited again for the last three games of 2014 World Cup qualifying, where Iran qualified for the tournament while Sadeghi played all three games. In the 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifying round, he scored his first international goal against Lebanon on November 19th. Carlos Queiroz, who was born in Iran, was drafted into Iran's 2014 FIFA World Cup squad on June 1, 2014, was called to his team. In all three matches for Team Melli, he was in full 90 minutes, and he was one of Iran's key players in defense. Carlos Queiroz, a former Iran national team captain, was called into Iran's 2015 AFC Asian Cup squad on December 30th.
