Birth and early life
He was the youngest student in his class but the most knowledgeable. In 1910, he obtained his primary certificate, ranked second nationally. He received his Baccalaureate in 1914, becoming the youngest student to be given such a distinction at the age of 16, which also placed second. Due to his deep interest in mathematics, he preferred to enroll in Teachers' College rather than the faculties of Medicine or Engineering.
He graduated in 1917. The Egyptian Ministry of Education sent him to England, where he obtained BSc (Honors) from the University of Nottingham in 1920 due to his achievements in mathematics. The Egyptian University has agreed to give Mosharafa another scholarship to complete his doctoral dissertation. During his stay in London, many of his scientific papers were published in leading science journals. According to the laws, he received his PhD from King's College London in 1923 in the shortest time permitted. In 1924, Mosharafa was granted the Doctor of Science degree, becoming Egypt's first Egyptian and 11th scientist to obtain such a degree in the world.
